Dreamcatcher Ranch Horse Camp
"Ride Into Your Dreams"
Dreamcatcher Youth Camp provides endless activities and fun for all campers ages 9-18 who love horses. Camps are available during spring break (weather depending) and all summer in one and two week sessions. The camp fee includes all activities, lessons and meals. Due to the strong camp interest primarily from girls, the residential camp is open to girls only.
NEW: If you are new to camp and would like to schedule a visit to Dreamcatcher Ranch, please contact Carol
(530) 642-0322
***Directions to Dreamcatcher are on the Home, then "About Us" page.
** Many new campers set up a lesson with Carol during the spring to get a feel for the riding and camp experience. Both semi-private, group or private lessons are available. This gives an opportunity to see the camp, meet the horses and ride under instruction with Carol. Saturday's are also available, call to schedule. (530) 642-0322 or email equicamp@aol.com
Under instruction, each camper will have the opportunity to build her riding skills using balance seat on the lunge line, arena course riding, gymnastics grids, basic vaulting, and, when ready, will experience riding a cross-country course at their level. Prior to any riding activity safety checks for both rider and horse equipment are performed.
Daily activities include barn management and safety, basic veterinarian and horsemanship lessons, and professional riding instruction under Carol Saulsberry. We also do team building (non-therapeutic) exercises with the horses that proves to be a lot of fun and brings cohesion to the group. Free-time will allow each camper a choice of games, crafts, swimming, playing with Dreamer, or an organized sport.
To maintain a more homelike, personal experience, the size is limited to 10 campers. You will be living in a yurt tent, and futon type mats will be provided...you just bring your pillow, sleeping bag and clothes (see clothing list).
