All the CIT's and Senior Counselors attend the Training Program offered each year at Dreamcatcher to improve their skills as leaders and prepare for the camp season.  Each counselor has current training in CPR and First Aid.
Past counselors, many will be returning....
Nicole Inal -  age 22, is unable to return to work at DCR, now that she has finished college she is starting her career in communications and public relations.   She lives in Laguna Niguel and has been a student of Carol's since she was 5 years old, and learned to ride 16 years ago on "stud man" Finnegan.  She competes her horse,
Apolo in Hunter/Jumpers, but has 8 years of training in Eventing with Carol. Nicole has been a working student for her trainer for the past 5 years, as well as teaching lessons. She is graduating from Chapman University in May 2011.   
Chenery Lowe, - age 19 from Piedmont.  She has been a camper for 6 years and is returning for a third year as a Senior Counselor after 3 years of CIT.  She owns her own horse and is a C3 in Pony Club. Presently she is in her 1st year of college in Ohio.   Chenery has a big following from her barn attending camp every year.  She has great ideas and brings a special compassion to all her campers. session #1
  Maddie aka Duckie - 19 years old from San Jose, and now attends U.C. Davis.  She has been a big part of Dreamcatcher for 6 years as a camper, and this year an addition to the staff as Senior Counselor.  Duckie naturally has great enthusiasm for having fun and making friends.  She as joined the same group of campers during session 3 since coming here.  A true passion for being with the animals and love for her own horse, who has also been to camp. session #2
Katie Sanford -age 20 from Santa Rosa, is joining another year as a Senior Counselor. Katie is on the Equestrian Team at Northwestern College, competing succussfully with the catch horses she had. She has been in theatre training for 3 years and comes with great enthusiasm and lots of new games and ideas for her campers as Senior Counselor for sessions #3 and #4.
MEET OUR COUNSELORS IN TRAINING...your Yurt buddies and leaders....
Maddy Bradski - (left) - 16 years old from Santa Rosa, is joining the staff for another year as CIT, after completing Dreamcatcher's counselor training program.  She has been a camper for five years, and makes many friends with her easy going and sweet nature.  She loves to participate wholely in all the activities at DCR, and does a great job at leg wrapping her people partner.
Meghan -(left) aka Squirt - age 17 from Castro Valley.  She has her own pony and competes in Pony Club Activities, as well as a member of 4-H.  Squirt has been a coming to Dreamcatcher for 6 summers and is returning for a fourth year as CIT.  She had a successful year in 2009 working and showing our Dancer. We hope to have her visit and help this summer.  She awaits acceptance at the San Francisco school of Art this summer.
Bryanna Stewart- age 15, continues as a working student for Carol, now at the new facility, but returns to DCR to ride her favorite pony Peaches whenever she can.  She proved to be a great leader bringing creative and fun learning sessions to her campers.  She is passionate about horses and was successful showing Peaches this past fall.  Presently she has advanced to riding Dancer and Lukas at Trinity Oaks.  She looks forward to having fun with her campers in session #3, and helping Natasha in #4.
    Natasha Miro - 14, has been a camper at DCR for two years.  She is a member of the U.S. Pony Club,and will be bringing new ideas for her campers with her education and ratings through Pony Club. She has been leasing Big Chester, Chenery's horse while she is in college.  Natasha continues to work towards her next rating, C1 with the Redwood Hills P.C. As you can see she will be ready to teach her campers how to make friendship bracelets in session #4.
HONORARY  PAST COUNSELORS:
Dory Blair is coming 23 this summer and been a camper and CIT for 3 years, followed by 3 years as a Senior Counselor.  Her expertise, helpfulness, hard work, and ability to keep things laughing is a huge contribution to such a successful camp summer.  So many side aches from laughing so hard.   She took a year off from college to travel abroad and volunteer in programs that aid poor countries.   Now she is in Boston attending her third year of college.

Jillian Perry, - age 18 was a working student at Dreamcatcher and spent her available time riding the horses to get them ready for camp.  A very talented rider, with the naturaly ability  to ride even the most difficult pony/horse of the day.   Jill is quiet and easy to make friends with, as well as carrying a great sense of humor.  She also is a trickster, so beware campers...
Briana Del Rosario (Brie) No this is not her baby, this is Kellen, Carol's grandson.
Brie is 25, comes from the San Diego area.  She was a camper for 3 years, and a CIT for 2 years, and for four years she has been part of the staff as a Senior counselor and riding instructor. Brie brings with her super equine skills having been in Pony Club.  She graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and is in New Mexico for graduate school.  Brie put the love and training with many of our project ponies/horses.  Carol really misses her little side kick.
Melissa Bard -  - She is on the right, with buddy cit Jessica.  Melissa is a returning CIT, with 4 years as a camper.  She is 17 years old and attended DCR leadership training for two years.  She is fun to get to know and makes easy friendships with her compasionate nature.
Nicole Fawns...aka "Fawnzie" is  a graduate from UC Davis Veterinarian school, and is presently in Kentucky working as an intern. She will always remain a "Dreamcatcher Counselor".  I look forward to the day I can call on her as our premier veterinarian.  I think by 2010???
She returns every year to spur up some memories, read stories to the campers from Young Rider or create food wars with the staff.  Her favorite camp meal is "Hobo Stew", which she returns each summer to indulge in with the campers.

 

Rachel Martinez (Chee)  
We have so many Rachels we had to find a distinct name for this counselor. Chee graduated Randolph-Macon Women's College in Virginia in December 2008. In addition to her riding skills, Chee brings excellent leadership training and experience. Chee is presently the director for a riding program for challenged children in Salinas.  She will be greatly missed by many at DCR.
Amanda Yancy,- age 18 lives in Oregon and has competed in 'A' rated shows and 3 Day Events on her horse, Red.  Amanda has been a camper for 5 years.    All year she is reminded of the great fun at camp by her screen saver photos. Amanda loves camp because she feels free to be herself and enjoys meeting new people and feels DCR is her second home. She even joined us for a big 10 year celebration this summer
Sarah True has been one of our long time campers and frequent visitors off season. She has been a CIT here for 3 years, and was a Senior counselor for a week over the summer of 2007.  She is completing her third year of college in New York.
Hailey Partridge is now attending U.C. Santa Barbara with her sister Sierra.  Both are involved in competitive surfing and modeling for various surf clothing companies.  
Both girls are very much missed here at Dreamcatcher.
 
Rachael Ambrosia has been a CIT for two years, and senior Counselor the first half of summer 2006.  She is in her fourth year of college in, N.C. on a track scholarship.  Rachael has a full schedule, taking classes to include riding with the college as well as take care of Rocky who now resides on the east coast with her.    Her smiles and sweetness will be missed.  
Morgan Kirschenmann has been a part of Dreamcatcher since we opened.  She has been a regular riding student here, as well as previous camper., and  a CIT for 4 years.  She was a benefit to the staff as a Senior counselor for two summers.   She also shares her wonderful pony, Romeo with many campers, we all thank you.  As you can see from the picture Morgan loves to goof around.
Jessica Schneider, age 18, she has given Dreamcatcher 4 years of being an outstanding CIT. Jess always has a smile, and watch out, her laugh is contagious.   Jess comes from Palo Alto and has been a camper at Dreamcatcher for 5 years.  She enjoys theatre and participating in the "Dreamcatcher pudding contest."
